Alginate oligosaccharides ameliorate busulfan-induced renal tubule injury

Kidney diseases endanger human health and place a heavy burden on global care systems. The current study aimed to explore the beneficial advances of alginate oligosaccharides (AOS) as functional food kidney structure function, underlying mechanisms with busulfan disrupted model. We found that AOS improved renal tubules. Busulfan increased protein levels injury marker molecule-1, apoptosis caspase 3 inflammation TNF-α while they were recovered by AOS. On other hand, promoted expression proteins involved in vascular development α-SMA, CD34 TGF-β which decreased busulfan. Furthermore, elevated blood metabolites reduced harmful levels. Therefore, can be applied improve function for patients who take chemotherapeutics such or chronic diseases.
